Why Product Listing Matters

Your product listing is the digital storefront for your business. If it’s not optimised with the right keywords, images, and descriptions, even the best products can go unnoticed.

Key Benefits of an Optimised Product Listing:

  • Increases visibility in search results

  • Improves click-through and conversion rates

  • Builds trust with customers

  • Drives long-term profits

Step 1: Create a Seller Account

Before listing your product, you need to set up an Amazon Seller Central account.

  • Visit sellercentral.amazon.in

  • Provide your business details (GST, PAN, Bank Account, Phone Number)

  • Choose your marketplace (India or international)

Step 2: Choose the Right Product to Sell

Not every product sells well online. As part of our Digital Business Academy training, we teach you how to find high-demand, low-competition products using tools and market data.

Quick Tips:
  • Use Amazon Best Seller Rankings

  • Explore trending categories (Home, Fashion, Beauty, Electronics)

  • Avoid fragile or seasonal items when starting out

Step 3: Prepare Product Details

This is where many beginners make mistakes. Your product title, bullet points, and description must be clear, keyword-rich, and convincing.

What You Need:

  • Product Name/Title (with relevant keywords)

  • 4-5 Bullet Points (highlight features & benefits)

  • Product Description (detailed and SEO-optimised)

  • Keywords (use Amazon Keyword Tools like Helium10 or DataDive)

Step 4: Upload High-Quality Product Images

GOOD VISUALS = GOOD CLICKS

Make sure to follow Amazon’s image guidelines:

  • White background

  • Minimum 1000x1000 pixels

  • Show product from multiple angles

  • Add lifestyle images (how it's used)

Step 5: Set Pricing and Shipping

  • Decide your selling price (consider Amazon fees, shipping cost, and profit margin)

  • Choose Fulfilment Method:

    • FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon): Amazon stores, packs, and ships your product

    • FBM (Fulfilled by Merchant): You handle delivery

Step 6: List Your Product

Once all the information is ready, go to "Inventory > Add a Product" in your Seller Central dashboard and fill in all the details.

If your product already exists on Amazon, you can list under the existing ASIN. If not, you’ll create a new one.

Step 7: Optimise and Launch

After listing, don’t just sit back. Your product needs:

  • Initial Reviews (through friends, early buyers)

  • Sponsored Ads to drive traffic

  • Ongoing Optimization (adjust keywords, pricing, and images)

Common Mistakes to Avoid

🚫Using low-quality images
🚫 Stuffing keywords unnaturally
🚫 Skipping important product attributes
🚫 Poor customer support after the sale
